Philosophy
Aside from the obvious benefits of exercise, including weight loss, muscle tone, increased energy, better mood and fitness, exercising outdoors offers several unique benefits you won’t find in the gym. Spending time outside has been shown to energize and renew the mood, especially as more and more of our day is spent indoors. This is extremely helpful during the fall and winter months when energy levels tend to be lower and the gym is full of germs!
The elements found outdoors also help the body in ways that no gym machinery can replicate. Different terrain offers a challenge and helps strengthen the joints that are working to stabilize the body. The real world benefit to you is the ability to reduce or avoid injury by continually challenging the body. Using dirt, grass and other natural surfaces is much easier on the joints than any gym surface…most gym flooring is just a rubber mat on top of concrete.
